“As a homeschool mom for the last 16 years, I have read my share of middle grade books to children and have been bored to tears by some. Not this one, it’s page turner full of surprises. The author also does a great job mixing in just enough rich vocabulary to expand your child’s, mind but not so much that they would get lost, frustrated, or confused causing them to put the book down.
I genuinely love books with historical references because history is fascinating, but kids don’t always think it is. The author wrote an exciting story referencing many historical events in a way that’s interesting to kids. As a mom, I loved that history was brought up in a way that drove us to google some of the times and places to find out more.
I thought I had this book figured out, but I was wrong. At one point I literally gasped out loud.”
